Amanda Lafreniere
Teacher
Infinitely curious about the human mind, Amanda is fascinated by people and their inner workings. She sees life as the ultimate human experiment – every challenge being an opportunity to learn something new about ourselves and the world around us.
Amanda completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training here at White Pine Yoga, has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and spends her weekdays working in mental health. She has always had a passion for understanding others and helping them to better understand themselves. This passion was bolstered (pun intended) during teacher training when she gained a newfound appreciation for the human anatomy and the importance of mindfully moving our bodies.
This is reflected in Amanda’s teaching style which is also influenced by her own yoga practice with the intention to inspire physical, emotional and spiritual growth in her students. Her classes have a strong focus on breath along with slow, intentional movement to encourage presence, patience and strength. Her hope is to inspire others to deepen their own practice and begin their journey to inner peace and self discovery.
Amanda is kept busy by her two year old daughter and tiny yogi, Cora. Aside from that, you can find her quietly reflecting on the complexities of life, reading and drawing, staring at the moon, exploring the outdoors and spending time with her nearest and dearest.
